Abstract

1528458 Electro-photographic members XEROX CORP 23 Sept 1975 38921/75 Heading G2X An electro-photographic member is made by (i) extruding a conductive material to form a support having a corrugated surface pattern of parallel lands and valleys and (ii) completely coating the pattern with a photo-conductive material to produce a member with a photo-conductive surface of lands and valleys. The valleys are preferably made conductive either by removal of photoconductive layer therefrom by cutting or by coating the valleys with conductive material. The member is preferably used in the process of Specification 1411237 where the valleys are filled with liquid developer, the member is uniformly charged and imagewise exposed and the latent electrostatic image on the lands is developed by the attraction of the developer from the valleys by the latent image. The member may be in the form of a cylinder or a flexible belt. Members which have flat conductive supports with photoconductive layers of parallel lands and valleys formed thereon by extrusion are disclosed in Specification.
