Abstract

Weight power-storing mechanism; momentum power-storing apparatus.-Within a frame F mounted on trunnions 4 and oscillated by a handle 14 is mounted a shaft 7 carrying an unbalanced wheel W and a pulley 22 which drives a shaft 23. The wheel W is weighted by means of sand &c. contained in pockets which extend over less than a quarter of its circumference; and the extent of oscillation of the frame F is limited by spring buffers. In nrder completely to prevent the wheel from stopping at a dead centre, the frame is connected with a pendulum P, which is pivoted at 15, is provided at the upper end with an open slot in which engages a pin 19 on the frame, and at its lower end has a bob M weighted with sand.
