Abstract

129,941. Conning, J. Feb. 21, 1919. Actuating by pendulum motors; actuating by hand; actuating by windmills.-Hand and power driven pumps are provided with a pendulum. Fig. 1 shows a single-acting pump balanced by a weight 10. By pulling on the rope 17 at intervals an impulse is given to an oscillating shaft carrying a pendulum 18 with an adjustable weight 19. The pendulum drives the pump between the impulses, its swing being limited by spring-buffers 22, 23. The lever 16 may be oscillated by a windmill. In a modification, a second single-acting pump replaces the balance-weight 10.
