Electric lamp and flash signals. - A signalling-lamp comprises a metal case a divided into three compartments b, c, d adapted to contain the reflector and electric bulb casing, an active battery, and a spare battery respectively. The compartment b is provided with two doors e, f, and the compartments c, d with single doors h, g. The doors are secured, when in the closed position, by wire bolts i. The reflector casing k is fitted with a metal foot m sliding in a bracket n in the compartment b. The electric bulb o is supported by a metal bracket p, which is in contact with a metal plate q on the casing k. The bracket p, plate q, and an insulating arc tare slidably secured on the casing k by a screw s<1> and nut s so that the lamp bulb may be focussed in respect to the reflector l. The door h carries a spring 2 pressing on the active battery, so that one pole formed by the outer casing of the battery is in contact with the metal case a and the other is in contact with a spring contact z connected to one of a pair of plug contacts x. The other plug contact x is connected through a metal plate v on a member w to a spring contact u on the insulating-arc t. The contact u is connected to the bulb terminal, the return circuit being made through the bracket p and the metal casing k. A plug 4 fits in the contacts z and is connected by leads to a tapper key for sending the signals. The lamp may be provided with a sighting-tube, and may be mounted by a ball-andsocket joint on a tripod. If desired, the member w may carry the tapper key. A small auxiliary electric reading lamp may be provided, and the whole may be contained in a compartmented leather case.
