Abstract

Battery lamps.- Spring plunger contacts e to engage the battery terminals a r e carried by an insulating - block a secured to the cap u of the battery casing; the spring i of one of the contacts abuts against a spring arm h pressed by a spring m against the centre contact of the lamp, the spring i<1> of the other terminal e bearing against a projection o on the lamp-holder n. The parts are secured together by the cap u which bears against insulating-washers q, p. The lower edge of the cap u is notched at v for engagement by a tool for screwing the cap into position. In a modification, the cap u is dispensed with, and the block a screws directly into the battery casing. the holder n being provided with two projections o, the second one bearing against the washer p and spring arm h. The circuit is made and broken by raising and lowering the battery. Specifications 113,506 and 127,376, [Class 53, Galvanic batteries], are referred to.
