Abstract

149,856. Fyffe, T. L. Jan. 27, 1920. Joints with longitudinal pressure and with yielding outer part compressed; tees.-In a coupling of the type in which a coupling-piece is disposed inside the pipe at the joints and two collars are disposed outside the pipe adapted to be drawn together by means of a union nut or like device, the inner coupling-member is cylindrical in form with spherical ends, the sockets being rounded to coact therewith. Fig. 2 shows the adaptation to aT-piece. The core 2 has ribs 7, 8 and 9 and the collars 10, 11 and 12 are correspondingly flanged.
