Joints with yielding outer parts compressed.- For hose couplings a tubular spigot a, which carries a revoluble internally threaded nut b for connecting purposes, has a concave outer surface and bulbous end a<2>, and is adapted to be inserted in a hose d, being secured therein by a pair of semi-circular clips c so shaped internally as to conform to the shape of the spigot. The clips are grooved at c' to receive the wire armour, and are provided with holes c<3>, through one of which the end of the wire armour is threaded and then clenched down. The clips c are clamped together and to the hose by bolts d'.
