138,630. Haddan, A. J. H., (Titeflex Metal Hose Corporation). Feb. 4, 1920. Elastic grip joints. -In a fitting for con. necting a flexible pipe to a union &c. the ends of the flexible tube are turned back over a shoulder 14 and a space is left between the turned over end and a sleeve, which screws on to the fitting, so that the bent over portion of the tube is forced against the surface of the shoulder by the fluid pressure in the passage. The shoulder 14 may be provided with corrugations to ensure a tight grip. Armouring on the tube is secured in a socket of the fitting by means, of screws. The Specification was originally open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) of the Act on 5 Feb., 1920, and also described the subjectmatter of Specification 150,314. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
