Joints with yielding outer part compressed.- A coupling for flexible armoured hose pipes comprises an inner grooved or corrugated sleeve member a carrying the coupling member a<2>, and an external ductile metal sleeve c extended bevond the inner sleeve and provided with a bell mouth c<1>, the hose being gripped between the two sleeves by pressing in the outer sleeve to cause the tube to enter the recesses in the inner tube. A contracting steel ring d may be used to cause the outer sleeve to be pressed. Specifications 151,298 and 197,275, [both in Class 99 (ii), Pipes, tubes, &c.], are referred to.
