Abstract

Joints with longitudinal pressure and with yielding outer part compressed.-In a device for connecting a hose 10 to a pipe &c. 17 of the type in which a coupling sleeve 19 screwing on said pipe 17 grips the hose against the back of an enlarged extremity 23 thereof, the coupling sleeve is provided with a loose internal ferrule band 21 having a tapered inner wall as shown. The sleeve and ferrule band are formed with a co-acting head 26 and groove 27 respectively so as to prevent separation of the parts, while the diameter of the enlargement 23 is preferably greater than the inner diameter of the screw-thread 20.
