Abstract

149,801. Chantler, E. A. May 31, 1919. Insulators. - Electric conductors C are soldered in lugs B which are moulded in the insulators A. The lug is made of galvanized iron, copper, &c., and has a tinned groove b', and splayed ends b<2>, b<3> embedded in the insulator. The lug may be carried on top of the insulator, or at the side, and may be lengthened by a channel strip soldered in the groove. For bends, the lug and strip may be curved to any suitable radius. The lug may be in two parts secured together, or may be cast; in the latter case the channel strip may be integral with the lug. The splayed ends b<2>, b<3> may be in the form of a dovetail.
