Abstract

389,966. Insulators. MORRIS, F., 7, Grantly Street, Glasgow. Feb. 16, 1932, No. 4562. [Class 36.] A section insulator for overhead conductors consists of a rod of insulating material the ends of which engage two-part housings carrying clamps for holding the ends of the conductors. In the arrangement shown the rod 1 is formed with ends shaped as shown engaging the housings 5. Clamps 12 for holding the conductors 2, 3 are formed integral with the lower halves of the housings 5. One or two wearing-pieces 6 to receive the collector are supported from a gland 9 surrounding the middle of the rod 1. The clasps 12 also support auxiliary wires 13, 14 which extend parallel to the conductors 2, 3 and are clamped to them at some distance from the insulator to strengthen them.
