Cables. - Electric cables of the " cab-tyre "type have the sheathing of tough-rubber compound C surrounded by a braided or woven metallic sheathing D, adapted to resist elongation under stress, which is covered by a further layer E of toughrubber compound, the whole being vulcanized together. The metallic sheathing is anchored to the terminals so as to relieve the electric conductor from stress and may also be used for " earthing " purposes.
