Abstract

171,599. Ratzlaff, W. Oct. 20, 1920. Cleats.-In an insulator for telephone or telegraph lines of the kind in which the wire is held in an inclined kerf terminating at each end in a notch, these notches being arranged to bend the wire, the kerf 4 is provided with notches 5, 6, which are formed with horizontal faces 8 and vertical parallel walls, as shown in Fig. 2. The wire 7 is first arranged in the kerf 4 and then bent, in one plane, so as to engage in the notches 5, 6, and be firmly held thereby. The top of the insulator is rounded to shed water. Specification 10186/94 is referred to.
