Cores.-In the dvnamo-electric machine described in Specification 141,116, in which the armature comprises two independent cores provided with a single winding, the space 5 between the armature cores is left open to the atmosphere so that the intermediate portions 6 - - 11 of the armature winding act as fan blades supplying cooling air to the ventilating passages and to all parts of the machine, a special fan or other ventilating arrangement being thereby dispensed with.
