[Class 35] Cooling-air for an electric motor 1 located in the hollow base 2 of a driven machine such as a lathe is directed through the base in such manner that the warmed air cannot mix with the fresh air, by suitable formation of the walls of the base as shown in Fig. 1, or by the provision of a baffle 3 to separate the inlet and outlet, as shown in Fig. 3.
