Abstract

1486958 Core yarn OFA AG 13 May 1975 [2 April 1975] 19982/75 Headings D1F and D1W A core yarn is made by passing a staple fibre band through a series of drawing rollers, and passing two filaments through a final pair of the drawing rollers with the filaments being separated by the band, the band and filaments being then. twisted together on a ring spinning machine to produce a yarn in which the two filaments are separated from each other by, and are enclosed by, the staple fibres. As shown, Fig. 2, filaments 12, 14 are fed to either side of staple fibre band 26 drafted by rolls 20, 22, 24, and the fibres and yarn are twisted by ring spinner 34 to form a yarn having the section of Fig. 1. Yarns 14, 16 are fed to the band in the relative positions shown in Figs. 3 or 4. The band may be of wool, cotton or rayon.
