Abstract

A rust-dissolving acidic cleaning agent based on phosphoric acid and/or acidic phosphoric acid esters contains an alkali metal disilicate, at least one polybasic carboxylic acid and/or at least one phosphonocarboxylic acid. Furthermore, a cationic corrosion inhibitor and a high-molecular polyglycol ether are to be added. To prepare the cleaning agent, the polybasic carboxylic acid and/or the phosphonocarboxylic acid is introduced with stirring into an aqueous solution of the alkali metal disilicate, and the remaining components are then added. The cleaning agent has not only a rust-dissolving action, but also a corrosion-inhibiting action if the derusted surface is cleaned therewith and then dried.
