Abstract

An aqueous composition particularly suitable for cleaning aluminium ware comprises (a) ammonium fluoride or bifluoride, and (b) glycolic acid. The composition usually comprises 1-20%, preferably 3.5%, ammonium bifluoride and 5-50%, preferably 20%, of a 75% solution, glycolic acid; about 0.5% of a wetting agent such as an ethylene oxide condensate with a dialkyl phosphate may also be added.ALSO:Aluminium ware is cleaned with a composition comprises (a) ammonium fluoride or bifluoride, and (b) glycolic acid. (a) usually comprises 1-20%, preferably 3.5%, ammonium bifluoride and 5-50%, preferably 20% of a 75% solution, of glycolic acid ; about 0.5% of a wetting agent such as an ethylene oxide condensate with a dialkyl phosphate may also be present.
