Abstract

147,056. Haaga, E. May 16, 1916, [Convention date]. Circular machines; straight-bar machines. - The sinkers 6 of straight and circular frames are pivotally suspended from elbowed jacks 1, 2 pivoted at 3 and worked by cams &c. 14. The upper ends of the sinkers 6 have V-shaped notches 7, which fit on shouldered pins 4, 5 on the arms 2, so as to be readily detachable, and have rearward projections 8, which are held in place by a har 13. Knocking over is effected by a cam 16. By removing the plate 14 an individual sinker which it is desired to withdraw from the needles can he pushed up into the position sitown in Fig. 8, and is retained by the wedging action of the corresponding jack 1, 2.
