Abstract

213,735. Spiers, W. Feb. 21, 1923. Circular machines of the superposed - cylinder type are provided with bipartite jacks or sliders for use with double-ended needles, the hook-engaging part 2 being separate from a part 4 or 14 against which the end of the hook abuts. The part 4 has a rounded pivoting end 5 while the part 14 is slidably connected by a dovetail recess 16 and projection 17 to the hook engaging part 2, which when deflected outwards by the action of the dividing cam 11 permits the part 4 or 14 to remain more or less in alignment with the needle 8. Specifications 15008/00 and 24290/12 are referred to.
