Abstract
272,416. Howe, R. A. Feb. 1, 1927. Darning.-A latch needle for repairing runs in knitted fabrics comprises a shank 1 having a hook portion 3 and a latch 8 having a hump 16 which is engaged by a thread of the fabric to open the latch before the tip of the latch can engage the fabric. The shank is provided with a shallow recess 17 in which the latch rests in its backward position. The tip of the hook is bevelled more sharply at one side than at the other and rests in a recess 12 in the latch.
