467,538. Stockings. HEMPHILL CO. Sept. 10, 1936, No. 24696. Convention date, Oct. 21, 1935. [Class 141] [Also in Group VIII] A stocking having an elas tic thread knitted in spaced courses and spaced wales has selvedge courses forming a picot edge 6 and the elastic thread knitted closely adja cent thereto so that the fabric of the stocking has little or no tendency to curl. The elastic thread may be floatec diagonally from course to course, as shown at 34, Fig. 2 or it may be knitted at a wale in two successive courses tc simulate a seam.
