Abstract
1467183 Sectional boilers IDEAL STANDARD 25 July 1974 [10 Aug 1973] 33009/74 Heading F4A A boiler is formed from sections 7 which define a central combustion chamber 6, arcuate gas ducts 3, 4 and water flow passages 5, there being partitions projecting from each face of the sections 7, between upper and lower ducts 3, 4, portions 8a, 8b of which partitions are offset either above (Fig. 3) or below (Fig. 2) a central plane P of the boiler so that adjacent sections can have juxtaposed partitions which either engage to prevent gas flow between upper and lower ducts or which are spaced to allow such flow (arrows 9, Fig. 1). As shown each partition has its portions offset on the same side of the plane but each of the portions on a partition could be offset to a different side (Fig. 4, not shown).
