Abstract
1510585 Sectional boilers BUDERUS'SCHE EISENWERKE 21 April 1976 [22 April 1975] 16142/76 F4A A sectional boiler is formed from a set of upright hollow sections (provided with sealing strips 6) defining an upper gas pass and a lower combustion chamber 3; each section having an interrupted side-wall adjacent the combustion chamber and adjacent sections in the boiler being turned through 180 degrees (Fig. 1) so that each interrupted side-wall is bounded by two complete side-walls 2. Atmospheric burner tubes can be inserted via the openings in the combustion chamber caused by the interruptions (Figs. 9, 10, not shown) or, when a burner is arranged to fire from an end down the chamber, these openings can be closed. This closure can be effected by increasing the width of each wall 2 relative to the rest of the section (Figs. 2, 5, not shown), extending the sealing strips 6 of the walls 2 (Figs. 3, 6, not shown), or providing plates to cover the openings (Figs. 4, 7, not shown).
