Abstract

1,172,184. Radiant burners. K. KRIEGER. 28 June, 1968 [3 July, 1967], No. 31042/68. Addition to 1,133,292. Heading F4T. In a modification of the radiant burner claimed and described in Specification 1,133,292, the heat-resistant metal plate is formed of a plurality of individual ports 72. Spaces (73) may be left between the ports 72 in assembly to form passages for gas flow through the burner head (70). Individual ports 72 may be fitted to overlap each other in assembly; or they may have attachments (72b) and be supported by a wire grating 71 which is situated downstream of the burner head and engages with the attachments. The ports 72 may be rectangular in shape with outwardly directed domed central portions 77 arranged directly downstream of passages 75 provided in an insulating layer 74.
