891,283. Measuring electrically. KROMSCHRODER A.G., G. Nov. 25, 1960 [Nov. 30, 1959], No. 40569/60. Class 40 (1). [Also in Group XXXVI] In a flame failure safety device four thermocouples are mounted on brackets 10, 11, 12, 17 and 18, Fig. 1, which are in turn mounted, by means of insulating spacers 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9, on a gas burner 1. The thermocouples being mounted at 90 degrees intervals around the periphery of the burner (Fig. 3) and the elements connected to adjacent brackets so that the thermocouples are connected in series with each other by the brackets. Each thermocouple comprises a flattened sheath 13, Fig. 4, of heat resistant metal forming one element of the couple, the other element, 14, being spot welded to the outer sheath at 19 otherwise being insulated therefrom by insulating layer 15.
