Abstract

1451419 Coaxial cable LES CABLES DE LYON 15 Feb 1974 [26 Feb 1973] 7133/74 Heading H1A A coaxial cable comprises an axial conductor 1, discs or a helical member of insulating material 2 and an external conductor 5, 6 formed from a bimetallic tape, coated on its internal face with an insulating film 3 such as polyethylene. The inner layer 5 may be of aluminium or copper and the external layer 6 of a metal of high mechanical strength such as steel. The two layers of the bimetallic tape may be displaced laterally in relation to each other to provide complementary rebates so that when the tape is formed longitudinally into a tube an overlapping joint ensuring good relative positioning between the longitudinal edges may be made without introducing irregularities into the conductor diameter.
