Abstract

Hulls of circular, elliptical, or oval section having the plating extending around a part of the circumference are provided with a deck structure 5 extending laterally only to the width of the non- plated part, and connected to the edges of the plating by substantially vertical bulwarks 6. The lateral extensions are connected to the frames of the hull either by angle-frames 8 or by longitudinal stringers 9, and interposed angle-frames. The deck may be fitted with longitudinal hatchway stringers 10.
