Abstract

1422934 Electrically released switches SQUARE D CO 20 Dec 1972 [19 Nov 1971] 53731/71 Heading H1N A latch attachment for a contactor includes a member 104 rotatable between two positions in one of which it blocks return of the contactor armature assembly to its de-energized position. The movable contact carrier 56 has a member 12 attached thereto by prongs 84 and the member 12 has projections 82 which extend through windows 136, 138 of the rotable plate 104 and step 82b engages the plate when in its lower position. When a release coil 16 is energized an armature 30 moves downward and engages a plastics member 110 coupled to the plate 104 so that as the movable member 110 rotates due to cam surfaces 132, 114 it turns the plate 104. The armature 30 may be manually pressed and a rod (not shown) can be inserted centrally to manually operate the contactor.
