999,014. Electromagnetic relays. K. REINER. May 14, 1963 [May 24, 1962], No. 19070/63. Heading H2B. In a plug-in electromagnetic relay the main body 40 of the relay and the base 12 into which it plugs are both provided with two sets of plugging contacts on different walls thereof. Clip contacts 24 on the upper wall 18 of the base 12 co-operate with knife edge contacts 64 on the upper walls 58 of the body 40 and divided contacts 57 projecting from recesses 52 in pillors 46 of the body 40 co-operate with knife edge contacts 34 on the base 12. Contacts 57 are connected to fixed relay contacts 56 in a compartment 51 of the base 40 and contacts 56 may be bridged by snap-action contact assembly 84 which also biases a plunger 74 to each extreme position. Contacts 64 are connected to fixed contacts 66 and movable contact blades 68 which are engaged by projections 92 on the plunger 74. The latter may be operated manually since its end projects through a cover 42 or on each energization of an electromagnet 72 which attracts its armature 98 to move a loop 102 into engagement with one cam face of a lever 10 coupled to the plunger 74. The cover is retained by slots 124 fitting over projections 122 and projections 120 on the body 40 fit in recesses 20 in the base 12.
