Abstract
142,070. Hamme, J. van. April 19, 1919, [Convention date]. Sliding bolts; doublebolt fastenings; clamps, internal. - Fastening- bars for windows &c. are formed from tubes slotted throughout their length to facilitate the attachment of the operating fittings, which can be secured where desired by fitting a sliding piece 14, Fig. 5, within the bolt 1 and locking it by screws 16 to an external sleeve 15. The screw heads form abutments upon which the operating finger 17 acts. The bolt end, Fig. 2, may be formed by a cone-ended sleeve 4 within which the slotted tube is expanded by an internal split sleeve 5 enclosing a screw 8 and conical nut 7. In a double-acting bolt, Fig. 4, the racks 9 may be enclosed within the tubular bolt, as shown. The slot in the bolt also allows an internal guiding-member to be fitted.
