Abstract

575,724. Expansion bolts. HARMOUR, F. J. March 31, 1944, No. 6052. [Class 89 (i)] An expansion bolt comprises two hexagonal casing parts 1a one being formed with lugs 7 embracing a groove in the other to hold the parts hingedly together. The ends of the parts are closed at 1c to prevent the entry of cement &c. Shoulders2a form an abutment for a conical nut 5 fitting the casing and engaging a quick taper 6 for expanding it under the pull of the bolt. In a modification the bolt has a taper head inside the casing and an ordinary nut is applied externally.
