Abstract

831,740. Anchor-bolts. VERUSCHACHT VEREINIGTE UNTERTAG - UND SCHACHTBAU G.m.b.H. Jan. 7, 1958 [Jan. 10, 1957], No. 552/58. Class 89(1) An anchor bolt for supporting mine roofs &c. comprises a hollow shank 1 with holes in the wall. Cement-mortar or other binding medium is passed down the shank and out through holes 2 to fill the bore around the shank. A sleeve 3, slidable outside the shank, is used to control the opening of the holes to ensure complete filling of the bore. In a modification, the sleeve is positioned inside the shank and, in another arrangement, the sleeve is replaced by a piston slidable within the shank. The shank has external screw threads G engaging a nut M having a wedge face engaged by a member H, relative axial movement caused by turnink shank 1 effecting radial separation of nut and member to wedge them in the bore. A nut MR is tightened to clamp a washer WS over the open end of the bore. These operations are performed before applying the binding medium.
