Fan-light, roof-light and pivoted - window opening and closing apparatus. - A telescopic screw-actuated device which subsequently retains the windows &c. in their adjusted positions, of the type in which a rod a is rotated in any known manner in the screwed mouth c<4> cf a sheath c pivoted to the window, has the inner end of the rod a provided with a collar f fitting snugly in the bore of the sheath so as to retain the rod axially aligned. The collar is fixed to the rod by a set-screw g, which is fixed by a tool passing through a hole c<7> in the sheath.
