Abstract

1416489 Safety cap and container L M BOXER and R W BOXER 21 Dec 1973 [26 Jan 1973] 59428/73 Heading B8T A safety cover 15 and container 1 combination can only be separated when the cover is rotated so that locking lugs 25, 26 on the inside of the cover skirt are aligned with two slots 10, 11 in an otherwise continuous rib 7, adjacent the top 4 of the container. Removal of the cover is then attained by raising a tab 20 on the cover whence the cover will pivot about camming lugs 29, 30, 31, on the inside of the cover and which are engaged under the rib 7 opposite the locking lugs, until the flexibility of the plastics cover permits it to spring off the container. When indicating means 21, 12 provided on the cover and the container are aligned then the locking lugs are aligned with the slots. The cover 15 can have a thick inner plug portion, depending from the upper wall section. The cover and container may also be provided with co-operating thread members and a bead can be provided at the rim of the container co-operable with a recess in the cover (Fig. 11, not shown).
