Abstract

1389163 Container closures; portable containers VULCAN PLASTICS Inc 13 March 1973 [17 March 1972] 11977/73 Headings B8T and B8D A moulded plastics container and cover have interfitting cover rim channel 24-26 and container flange 14 as shown, and the container is formed with an annular drip rib 15 and bumper rib 16 to protect the cover against removal by the covers of similar adjacent containers Fig. 6 (not shown). An annular wall 29 on the cover forms with the rim a stacking ring for the base of a superposed container, and an opening 32 may be provided to receive a pouring spout. The container may have sockets (19), Fig. 1 (not shown) moulded integrally with the bumper rib 16 for a bowl handle. The bumper rib 16 is said to resist buckling of the container side wall under stress.
