Abstract

1434546 A closure for a liquid container SUNBEAM PLASTICS CORP 14 Sept 1973 [3 May 1973] 43311/73 Heading B8T A closure for a liquid container 10 comprises a removable cap 12 having a skirt 15, bayonet joints or as shown threads 14 and 13 provided on the interior of the the cap and on the exterior of the container neck 11 respectively for engagement, and co-operating sealing means respectively on the cap 12 and the container neck 11, the means constituting projections 18 on the container neck 11 and a smooth cylindrical surface 17 on the cap skirt 15. The closure also acts as a child proof device by having cap lugs V9 located in recesses 21 on the container, which lugs have to be disengaged from the recesses by pressure applied on the side 5 of the cap before the cap can be unscrewed. The sealing rings (25) may be located near the top of the container neck Fig. 8 (not shown) and only one sealing ring (30) Fig. 9 (not shown) may be provided.
