Dynamos, cooling and ventilating; dynamos, driving.-An internalcombustion engine on a motor-vehicle is provided with a vertical shaft a driving (1) the cam-shaft b, (2) the water-circulating pump l, (3) cross-shafts c driving two magnetos g, and (4) the shaft o of the cooling-fan q and the lighting-dynamo n. Part of the air drawn: through the radiator by the fan is collected by a hood s on the dynamo and passes through holes t, thus cooling the armature.
