Abstract

Spray carburettors.-To increase the power developed by an engine for a motor vehicle &c., the engine is enclosed in a bonnet or casing in which the pressure of the cooling air is maintained above that of the atmosphere. In the construction shown in the Figure, an engine a is supported upon the chassis of a motor vehicle by extensions a<1>, the floor space occupied by the bonnet being completely sealed by plates e, a<3>, a<4>. A fan may be located behind the radiator d. The outlet orifices g<0> in the bonnet are of such dimensions that the cooling air circulated through the bonnet is maintained at a suitable pressure.
