Abstract

1404165 Making electrical connectors ILLINOIS TOOL WORKS Inc 10 Oct 1972 [15 Oct 1971] 46689/72 Heading B3A [Also in Division H2] A socket sleeve 12, formed from a sheet metal blank 42, has one or more integral spring contact blades 14, folded back within the bore, and pre-stressed to bear inwardly upon a mating pin (not shown). The sleeve may be of square, polygonal or circular cross-section. The contact blades may be twisted about an oblique line 36, Fig. 1, or alternatively may be bowed, as in Fig. 10, and recessed for lateral guidance into grooves 32, which are present in the blank before it is folded.
