Abstract

802,652. Crimping tools. AMP, Inc. Dec. 23, 1954 [Sept. 20, 1954], No. 10437/57. Divided out of 802,651. Addition to 750,047. Class 61. A die operated tool for crimping electrical connectors and terminals to conductors, comprises means 63, 64, for locating the connector or terminal in the tool, the said means comprising an elongated bar-shaped element 66 positioned alongside the die sets 35, 36, and extending approximately perpendicular to the direction of relative movement between the dies, and to the longitudinal axis of a connector or terminal inserted between the dies. As shown, each locator is slotted at 67, and a spring 72 extends between a peg 72 and the bottom of the slot to exert a downward force on the locator. The locator is raised against the action of the spring when inserting a connector or terminal. Specifications 801,436, 801,437 and 802,653 are referred to.
