Abstract

140,018. Hanwell, C. H., and Hanwell. O. E. Oct. 13. 1919. Spray carburettors.-The air supply to the nozzle B is controlled by a valve E, the face of which is shaped to correspond with that part of the passage D in which the nozzle is situated, and is provided with a slot E<1> to accommodate the end of the nozzle. The slot E<1> is of approximately the same width as the nozzle, so that it directs the stream of air from the inlet D<2> on to the nozzle, and is closed against air admission by the wall of the passage D when the valve is closed. The mixture outlet D<1> is controlled by the valve E and also by a throttle valve C<1>. The valves E, C<1> are reciprocated by any means, for example by Bowden wires G<1>, F<1>.
