Abstract

1396808 Rolling mills SIEMAG SEIGENER MASCHINENBAU GmbH 12 Nov 1973 [19 Dec 1972] 52356/73 Heading B3M The rolls 9 of a roll stand are carried in chocks 8 each supported by a transom 10 which is linked to the stand housings 1 and 2 by shackles 3 and 4. The lower end of each shackle 3 is mounted on an eccentric journal 6 of a rotatable pin 5, to provide vertical adjustment of the transom and roll. The upper end is bifurcated to embrace a wall 12 of the transom, an hydraulically operated cotter 21 normally connecting the parts together. Withdrawal of the cotters (they may be operated simultaneously), allows removal of the transoms and rolls from the housings. The stand may be equipped with horizontal or universal roll sets, and may be part of a roll train.
