1395500 Pile fabrics IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 27 June 1972 [19 July 1971] 33762/71 Heading D1K A pile fabric is formed by needling loops through a non-woven web whose fibres contain at least 5% by weight of composite fibres and treating the fabric to bond together contiguous fibres in both pile and web. The web may be of staple fibres or continuous filaments which may be carded or randomly oriented. The web may be a laminate of webs differing in material or colour. The composite fibres may be arranged in side-byside relationship or in a core and sheath arrangement and may be, e.g. two forms of nylon or polyethylene terephthalate. The remainder of the fibres may be natural, manmade or synthetic. The loop pile may be subsequently cut or embossed.
