Abstract

1316289 Tufted fabrics OZITE CORP 11 Nov 1970 53681/70 Heading D1K A tufted fabric comprises a scrim base layer of polypropylene, jute or lunlap, a layer 6 of staple fibres needled into the scrim through which a yarn 8 is tufted, the needled layer 6 and the yarn 8 having the same dyeing properties. The needled layer substantially covers the scrim so that after dyeing the fabric which may be carpetting has a uniform colour appearance. The staple fibres in the needled layer may have a length of 1-4 inches and the tuft yarns, which may be cut or uncut can be of nylon.
