1,091,137. Laminates. R. JOOSS and M. SAUR, [trading as FIRMA C.F. PLOUCQUET]. Sept. 28, 1965 [Feb. 25, 1965], No. 41166/65. Heading B5N. A boiling-proof blanket consists of in the order stated woven or knitted fabric layer, a foam material layer, a fibre fleece layer, a foam material layer and a woven or knitted fabric layer, the layers being united only at spaced locations, and the fleece layer being made up of loose fibres which have been needled, felted or pneumatically felted. As shown a fibre fleece layer 3 of natural or synthetic fibres is covered on each face by foam material layers 2, 4 respectively, and outer fabric layers 1, 5 respectively of woven or knitted fibres. The layers 1, 5 may be opposite walls of a tube of material, and are preferably roughened on their outer sides. The fleece layer 3 may be strengthened on one or both sides by spraying with synthetic plastics material or by fusing into the fleece powder sprinkled therein. The foam material layers may consist of more than one layer of different foam materials having different densities. The layers are united at their edges or at spaced locations by welding, sticking or quilting along lines. The layers need not all be united at the same points.
