1387927 Granulating molton metals ISC ALLOYS Ltd 2 May 1973 [1 June 1972] 25666/72 Heading C7X Molten metal, e.g. Zn, in a container 2 is fed to nozzle 4a and atomized by a gas e.g. air from a nozzle 5 which is movable e.g. by rack and pinion or threaded member 7, between points ¢ to 2 inches from the molten metal nozzle 4a. The annular slit 10 for the gas may be varied by using a removable threaded insert 8. The slit may be arranged to give a converging conical stream of gas. Guides may be used to convey the gas to the nozzle 4a.
