Abstract
553,672. Granulating metals. HURST, J. E., BERK & CO., Ltd., F. W., and SIX, C. G. Nov. 24, 1941, No. 15121. Drawings to Specification. [Class 82 (ii)] In the production of metal powder in which a downwardly flowing stream of molten metal is. subjected the action of an annular jet of liquid of conical shape, the speed of the liquid is at least 20 metres per second and up to 200 metres per second. The molten metal passes through the apex of the cone of liquid, which is usually water and may be liquid hydrocarbons and the metal powder falls into a vessel containing a non-oxidizing atmosphere. The treatment of tin,. zinc, aluminium, copper and alloys containing these metals is referred to.
