Abstract

Alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, aluminium, magnesium and alloys of these metals are manufactured in powder form by subjecting a downwardly flowing stream of the molten metal to the action of an annular and conical jet of a hydrocarbon oil in an atmosphere preferably containing more than 5 per cent by volume of oxygen. The apparatus disclosed in Specifications 553,672 or 719,047 may be used.
